The dim sum dishes here were flat, flat, and flat!
My mom and I ordered 4 dishes. We waited 20 minutes… No food. I asked a man who worked there and he looked like a manager. He was like, you guys ordered the most elaborate dishes that would take longer time! Well I ordered those dishes at other busy places and never had to wait this long. This place was busy but was not completely packed.
Finally the food came, they all looked good. Although I thought using bamboo leaves instead of lotus leaves for the sticky rice chicken was a little cheap. Once we started eating, the food was just tasteless. It desperately needed seasoning! Do the cooks have ever tasted their own food?
Mom said,
“Should we ask for a plate of soy sauce?”
I chuckled. I really couldn’t think of any comment that was more insulting.
The people sitting at the table next to us had the same problem of long waiting too. This time, the waitress that they were asking was even more rude. She said in Mandarin with a heavy Cantonese accent,
“Hey the food is raw, and we need time to cook it!”
Wow, I was speechless.
