The Uncommon Cafe
I had a chance to work on a photo shoot project at the Uncommon Cafe in the heart of Japantown/Railtown. The cafe provides a warm inviting space for enjoying healthy comfort fare, a commissary kitchen shared by several other small local food businesses, and a venue for events, pop-ups and cooking classes.`
And they have recently refreshed the looks of the cafe. In addition to the charms of antique furniture and vintage décor, they have brought in exquisite Macramé works by Forage & Lace, and lovely succulent arts by Star and Pointer. The collections are available for purchase.
The beautiful food creations are prepared by chef Luc Leimanis (savoury) and chef Valentine Kitamura (sweets, pastries and baked goods ) from Tartine & Maple. The new design of the cafe and the artful objects have made the dishes even more spectacular visually in front of my lens.
The Tasting
I also had a chance to taste a few items:
- Meatball sandwich
- Beet and goat cheese salad
- Banana loaf and Lemon loaf
- Latte
The sizable meatballs in the sandwich are moist and flavourful, and taste even better with freshly made marinara sauce. While the refreshing beet salad makes a wonderful side, the sweet loaf and the latte complete the warm and comforting meal.
The Photo Shoot
Here are a few images from the photoshoot that I would like to share with everyone.
