After lunch at Caffe DeLucchi, my mom and I walked up a block and visited Stella Pastry & Cafe, a popular Italian bakery in North Beach recommended by a local friend. Having very limited knowledge on Italian pastries, I picked up a few commonly known ones, a Tiramisu, a Sacripantina, an Eclair, and a couple Canoli, all looking sexy and delicious.
Once we got back to my Auntie’s place, I couldn’t wait to try them. They were amazing! Sacripantina and Tiramisu were very similar in texture – soft, delicate, and creamy. I have to say the Tiramisu is the best one I have ever had, despite the fact that my mom dropped the box making a dent on it. The flavours were perfectly balanced with the right amounts of booze, cocoa, mascarpone, and coffee. Great Cannoli and Eclair as well, but I would prefer Cannoli more because my mood was more for the Italian at the moment. I would definitely go back there when I’m in San Francisco again!
