Vancouver’s iconic Water St Cafe has kicked off 2021 with a great initiative and some positive vibe. The Gastown restaurant is offering 21 days of 1/2 priced pasta for whoever brings a non-perishable food item for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank when they visit the restaurant. The event is running through January 21.
Wouldn’t want to miss such a great deal, I came down here with my new roommate J. We sampled some of their most popular pasta dishes.
The Meat Balls & Pappardelle features 3 gigantic meatballs, hand-made with pork, beef, and veal meatballs, and topped with vibrant tomato sauce, fresh parmesan, and a touch of fresh basil. The house-made egg noodles are so delicate and tasty.
Seafood lovers must try the Spaghetti Alle Vongole, topped with fresh manila clams, and flavoured with garlic, shallots, white wine, heirloom tomato, and fresh herbs. This Italian classic is light and elegant yet flavour-packed,
Also, don’t forget to pair your pasta dish with some delicious BC wine. Water St Cafe has a great collection of some of the best wines produced in the province.
